Our Mission
The Lions Eye Bank of NW PA has been providing our sight saving mission since 1959.
Our mission is to provide sight saving corneal tissue for patients facing blindness locally, across the US and internationally. Corneas can also be preserved for emergency use, or can be used for research and teaching.
Local corneal donations are facilitated through the Lions Eye Bank of NW PA in coordination with our area Organ Procurement Organization – CORE. We enable those designated as organ donors as well as families wishing to donate on behalf of their loved ones to assist us in our sight saving mission.
Additionally we educate the community through our eye safety and organ donation age appropriate programs.
